Our Mission
At Spotlight Studios in Auburn, NY, participants are provided the opportunity to perform, create, and identify talents they did not know they had. The individuals are taught and supported by professional artists and musicians and are given the opportunity to share their talents with friends, family and their community.

Gaming
This class is designed for video game lovers to explore new games, share their tips, tricks, and expertise with others, and develop a community of gamers within our agency. The staff will support each person to focus on their own personal goals and objectives, while promoting socialization and providing the opportunity to meet new people with a common interest.
Karaoke
This class is for people who have an interest in music, singing and performance. It will provide the opportunity to sing along with the artist and music, learn lyrics, develop reading skills, feel comfortable performing in front of others, and become a Spotlight performer. Staff will support the individuals in conducting a show from start to finish. Individuals will have the opportunity to learn how to use an iPad for music, videotaping, working the lights of the stage area and become an emcee. The group will put on live performances as well as livestream their shows.
Dance
Anyone who loves dancing, movement and music will love this class. Each person will be working with a professional dance instructor to learn different types of dance, then take what they learn and put on a live performance. Participants benefit from movement and physical activity, and it’s done in a way that doesn’t feel like exercise. It’s fun with a very high energy instructor!
Showcase
This program is designed for the person comfortable performing in public. They will have the opportunity to perform on a bi-monthly basis. Each member will work with a professional musician who will help them develop their song and stage performance. Everyone will have the opportunity to develop confidence, assist with lighting and sound, and be an emcee. This program assists with memorization, reading skills, word recognition, and shows each person how their role helps build a show.
Showcase participants can perform live in front of both in-person and virtual audiences!
Art
This class is great for anyone that is artistic or wants to learn more about the different mediums of art. Everyone will be introduced to various types of art, but will also have their own time to work on a project of their interest. Two art shows will be held annually. This will allow the individual to display their work and sell it if they desire. This class allows the person to express themselves through their work, and be an active part of putting an art exhibit together from start to finish.
Songwriting
This class is designed to assist that person with an interest in writing their own music. iPads are used to assist with creating songs and writing their own lyrics. This session teaches people how to rhyme, create melodies, harmonies and the ability to formulate ideas. It helps with communication and a great outlet for expression.
Spotlight on the Town
This traveling group will be performing at a variety of schools, local agencies, senior citizen settings, local parks and community events. Everyone in the group will play a role, such as coordinating events, gathering equipment, set up, break down, creating flyers, etc. The group will be self-sufficient band with staff supports as needed. Individuals will benefit from learning team work, supporting one another, establishing new community relationships and developing self-confidence.
